back.
its ironic.
i think i've decided to blog again. just cuz things go around in my head and never get out on somewhere good. that makes me go crazy.
yes yes. its ironic i wasnt blogging while i was away from home for the past half a year. ho. but it doesnt matter really. does it? for whoever interested, pictures are available on facebook, or ask me for links! (:
and so it's back to school, and back to real life.
no more obsession with volvinio and chinese language; no more favourite lamp post; no more crazy travelling and tiring flights; no more churches, plazas, and cobblestone streets.
looking back on the whole exchange program, i guess i learnt alot more than just academic stuff. well of course i think the most i gained from the whole exchange is my culinary skills. woots. my daddy must be so proud of me now that i am able to fry his famous fried rice and beehooon. and i think i definitely learnt to be more independent. learnt the hard way not to rely on ppl but to do things for myself on my own. i guess different ppl grow up with different upbringing, have different ways we do things. interacting with the same ppl 24/7 for 4 months lets u learn more about yourself and everyone else. oh wells. i guess life's hardest lesson is, we come into this world alone, and we leave alone. so we jolly well gotta learn how to do things alone. and im beginning to love the solitude.
sitting in class in smu, is so so different from sitting in class in bocconi. long droning lectures; class participation; competitive peers. but i guess these are what made us better than the rest outside of this little island. i've been having this dicussion with many many ppl who have been out there, and we all tend to agree that singaporean education (i dont know if its smu particularly) equips us with useful skills for the workforce today. some that our counterparts across the world are cluelesss about. then again, why are we competing amongst ourselves in this crazy dog-eat-dog world?
sigh. singapore oh singapore. this island home we so love and hate.
on the other hand. from the day i touched down, i've been meeting up with old friends. feeels so good to be home and so many friends to be around, and so many things to do. in fact, its what been keeping me busy. sambiesta party, njcsb gathering, mape, symphonia, and l^3 tonight. woots. and more to come. so many more ppl iw anna see, so many more ppl i wanna talk to.
can't wait.

a song in hokkien.
always listened to it in the cab when i was a kid.
realised that daddy bought a new cd and i was happily ripping all the teochew and hokkien songs so familiar to me, cuz they were what i grew up with.
i remember sitting in my daddy's cab, so many occassions.
like sharing the front seat with my brother so that he can carry passengers in the back.
lying down in the back seat when im so tired after school on days he send me home from school.
and alot more.
n i just thought this is a very touching song.
so its specially dedicated to my beloved daddy. (:
thank you.
